Academic Experience

• Assistant Professor. University of Toronto, Institute for Aerospace Studies. 2008 - present.

• Post-Doctoral Research Associate. Zucrow Laboratories, Purdue University, IN, USA. 2006 - 2007.

»» Conducted three-dimensional computational analyses of cryogenic fluid flow through a small-
sized centrifugal turbopump in support of the design of an actual testing facility.

• Research Assistant. Fluids Research Laboratory, Lehigh University, PA, USA. 2001-2006.

»» Performed experimental investigations on several classes of flow-structure interactions involving
unsteady separated flows, and flow-induced noise and vibration. Designed experimental
setups and conducted research using quantitative visualization technique of high-image-density
Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) together with various flow measurement, motion control and data
acquisition systems.

»» Worked in liaison with numerical simulation groups as part of parallel experimental-numerical
efforts.

»» Developed software in image processing, and statistical and spectral analysis.

• Teaching Assistant. Lehigh University, PA, USA. 2002-2006.

»» Assisted in the teaching of thermodynamics and engineering mechanics courses as well as
several laboratory courses in the areas of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, dynamics, solid
mechanics and general mechanical engineering.
