Wing Yin (Penelope) Kwong (PhD Candidate)Penelope was
the Experimental Engine Lab's second MASc
graduate. After completing her Master's degree, she continued on
as PhD student with research focusing on the non-stationary behavior of
interacting swirl injectors. She has developed a unique linear
combustor array that can be configured to explore many different
dynamic combustion phenomena in the same test bed, in isolation or
simultaneously. Using this combustor, Penelope will be studying how
global and local variations in fuel/air mixing affect stability of the
entire array, as well as the effects of alternative fuel
composition. Penelope joined the E2 lab in 2012 after
receiving her B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the University of
Toronto.
